I was thinking of you while watching some documentaries on photography. Someone said that all painters loathe photography, in some way. But that Photography changed the way painters painted. Degas' work evidences that he had studied pictures and incorporated what he saw into his paintings. For example, prior to photos, painters did not paint people walking, or if they did, it did not look natural because how did one know what it looked like for people walking and stopped in mid stride. Also, the viewfinder frame caught angles that were otherwise uncaptured. Anwway, it was interesting, to me ;O)
